From inside cover assumedly written by Shane Renfro: 'Other Trails' is the prelude to a larger body of work composed by RF SHANNON between the summers of 2015 - 2016. Originally intended to be a double LP, the recordings explore long-form mood pieces interspersed with traps, or brief moments of a certain pop sensibility that rise and fall like something familiar in a dream, which so soon shifts into an unknown oneiric entity. The recordings themselves are meant to act as a reflective dictum, a demanding exchange between the conscious and unconscious realms. I'm dealing with the apprehension/transformation I've felt during the ceremonial use of plant medicine, the process of love as ego-death, and the palpable terror that seems to coexist with the beauty of wild places. These are the topics and experiences that interested me greatly during the sessions. I've since grown tired of tracking such intense notions, at least for the time being. I'm glad to release it and watch 'Other Trails' meander to its imminent destination: Jaguar Palace. Thank you for listening.
