Daniel Zinn - Two Roads (CD)

Dan Zinn, a tenor saxophonist based in Alameda, California, will release his new album Two Roses in 2024. Rachel Z, Omar Hakim, and Jeff Denson will be featured.
For over 20 years, Dan Ginn has been creating a unique, original sound that blends the influence of Jan Garbarek's Norwegian folk-based music with his own roots in American jazz and East Bay funk.
The opening track, "Yarak," features a hot sax solo backed by Omar Hakim's dynamic drums. The following track, "Sound of Ice Melting," shows Jin's love for folk melodies. "Pros and Cons" is heavily influenced by Lenny Pickett (formerly of Tower of Power). The album's title track, "Two Roses," is inspired by a poem by American poet Robert Frost and features Denson's wordless vocals.
