This is Dave Alvin's solo debut, recorded after departing The Blasters (the group he founded with his brother Phil Alvin), and following his brief stint in X (5). It was released initially in the UK (1987 on vinyl), then picked up for US release by Epic Records, which changed the album title to "Romeo's Escape". "Every Night About This Time" was released by Line Records (CD #900334) in Germany. Mixed & recorded at Rock Steady Studios, Central City Studios and Airdrome Studios, Los Angeles 1986-87.
