Up Around The Sun - Self Taught

Instrumental folk duo from Austin, Texas.

The duo features Jerry Hagins playing traditional tunes on fiddle and banjo, while Tim Kerr plays unusual changes and chords on an open-tuned acoustic guitar.
Kerr and Hagins do not consider Up Around the Sun a band. The project began in 2013 when Kerr asked Hagins, whom he met though Irish and old-time jams at the Rio Rita coffeehouse, to record some banjo tunes for him to study the clawhammer technique. Kerr laid guitar over the tracks and they were released by Monofonus Press. Some live performances followed.
