Austin Stambaugh is a guitarist, songwriter, and short story writer originally from Northeastern Ohio. Stambaugh's Sings The Ballads of Ernest Tubb brings a fresh, dark sound to a classic country catalogue. With his friend and mentor, former Texas Troubadour Lynn Owsley, Austin Stambaugh set out to record timeless Ernest Tubb deep cuts with Owsley as band leader on pedal steel guitar. The songs were selected and produced by Stambaugh and arranged by Stambaugh & Owsley, featuring an all-star band of bassist Jared Manzo (Chris Scruggs & The Stone Fox Five) and drummer Walter Hartman (Dr. Hook & The Medicine Show), and Derek Pell (Ray Price) on fiddle. The record solidifies Stambaugh as a tastemaker in the modern wave of Nashville’s scene and is released on Tomika Records.
