Recorded in New York, they introduced the sharp dance beats that were popular at the time. This album features a fresh start, featuring lively grooves. The band's guests include popular Brazilian singer-songwriter Djavan, whom they met on a South American tour the previous year; percussionist Steve Thornton, who has performed with Miles Davis and Sadao Watanabe; and renowned saxophonist Lenny Pickett, formerly of Tower of Power.
